Welcome to Class 15!

 French visitors!
This week, we have been lucky enough to have the children and adults from our link school in Gravenchon over to visit. They have joined in with year 6 classes, enjoyed a super games evening and a trip to Glastonbury Abbey. The children made some very good friends, and it was very sad to see them go. It has been a busy week, but an amazing one we will never forget! Here is what we got up to!

 Getting to know each other

We began the week by getting to know each other. We asked each other questions in English and French, and played some games in the classroom.

 Sport

On Monday afternoon, we all played Netball together with the sports coaches.

King Arthur
On Tuesday, the children worked in mixed groups to retell the story of King Arthur through art work. They then had to stand up and tell their part of the story in both English and French.

We also had the chance to make rice crispy cakes in the practical room.

Games evening
On Tuesday evening, the children stayed at school to eat dinner together and play a range of games inside and outside. It was lots of fun!

 Wednesday

On Wednesday, we spent the morning playing benchball and dodgeball in the hall, before going to Glastonbury Abbey in afternoon. At the Abbey, we dressed up as monks, had a go at brass rubbing, and had a tour of the ruins.

Important information and reminders

Spellings and times tables will continue being sent home on a Wednesday and will be tested on Mondays.

Easter homework is due on Tuesday 22nd April.

Please make sure your child is also reading at least 3 times a week, and that they bring their reading record into school weekly to collect their house points!
